Today on the way to work, I saw a demonstration, boulevard Raspail, in front of Lutetia.
I teach classes, English classes. One of the many extra-curricular activities provided within the school buildings, but after the class. A one-hour classes in small groups organized by an association that has signed an agreement with the City of Paris. A price paid by parents that extends the school day of the privileged few an hour and a half. Inequality of opportunity.
Looking at these teachers protest against cuts means of Education, I began to wonder if, while agreeing with their demands, I was not involved in the dismantling of education National. Because ultimately, teaching English, it's not a job for students Fiber teacher paid by a private association, but a profession of teacher properly trained to carry. If the private sector has slipped into the breach of language teaching (and tutoring and tutoring) is that education can not properly support all students in all materials. Obviously, any system can be improved, but the decrease means certainly not helping the staff of National Education. Just hope no one relies on the illusion that the private sector takes relay.
