Standard Schnauzer Lady And The Tramp

expo: Michal Batory

Michal Batory is a craftsman of the poster, born in Poland, and worthy heir of the great Polish poster years 70/80. Based in Paris, he began to touch the poster in 1994 with the Theatre de la Colline, and creates both posters for the Chaillot Palace, album covers for France Music Publishing that covers Polish Coelho. The exhibition dedicated to him (at Batory, Coelho not 'have to follow!) Is sublime. It shows the work of an artist who, between sculpture and painting plant Chocolate demonstrates that craft still exists in photography at the age of photoshop. It is this craftsmanship that can be seen in the first room, which displays the objects photographed in the process of creation, topped with a crown of glasses of wine in a straitjacket by the way by tubes of gouache crushed.

What makes the style Batory, the mixture dream of the human body and object, nature and artifact, the gentle and violent people to cause a sensation among the public. His posters are not only beautiful, they question the point it is sometimes obliged to explain his work so that they are accepted by their sponsors ...
The exhibition features the work of Batory including the Palais de Chaillot and the Theatre on the Hill, but also goes beyond this framework to finally show how the poster was imposed today in the French cultural displays. There being neither any of you could not escape his posters at the turn of a corner, off you go now to discover a different day!
